I grew up on a family owned farm in southeastern South Dakota. 309design is named for the gravel road in front of our home --- optimistically named 309th Street. Growing up this way was amazing and has kept me grounded and respectful of nature and of the importance of re-use and sustainable design wherever possible.
It is always my goal in working with a client in designing home interiors to create beauty and functionality, being respectful of whatever the budget may be in re-using and re-inventing pieces and finishes to maximize appeal, but minimize the expenditure.
My greatest joy in interior design is working with a client to maximize the beauty and functionality of a space while respecting a client's budget and finding new ways of using well-loved furniture or accessories --- bringing new life to the pieces of a client's life that speak of 'home' to them.
